Tesla FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 Video Series

After a few month delay in FSD Beta content the planets aligned where I got a new FSD Beta build and the roads so happened to be clear (rare for this time of year in Minnesota). I have been busy testing 10.69.25.2 and minus an annoying regression with the intersection of 37th Ave NE & Central Ave NE (Northeast Minneapolis) this build has been pretty solid for me so far.

Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – West Metro w/ Zero Disengagements!

This video contains footage recorded on January 26th, 2023 of FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 driving me from Chanhassen, MN to my home (NE Minneapolis). This is one of the better drives I’ve had with FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 and it just so happens to be one where I experienced zero disengagements along the way! Looking forward to seeing more drives like this with v11!
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Random Drive Through Chanhassen

Here is a brief zero disengagement drive I did through Chanhassen a few weeks back where FSD Beta drove me right into the parking lot of my destination.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Chaska

This video contains footage recorded on January 26th, 2023 of FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 driving me from my home (NE Minneapolis) to Chaska, MN. Since this commute occurred in peak rush hour I skipped over the highway portion and strictly focused on the city street portion.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Chaska Drive Highlights – Ice Berg Detection Needs Work

Chunks of ice that fall off vehicles (I call them ice bergs đź™‚:)) is a unique edge case for #FSDBeta in cold locations such as Minnesota. While the Occupancy Networks have been a big step forward for Tesla, there still remains some work to be done.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Chaska Drive Highlights – Impressive Creep Behavior

The creep behavior continues to improve with each FSD Beta build and 10.69.25.2 is no exception to this. In this video you’ll see how FSD Beta slightly slows to confirm the occluded traffic light is still green before fully committing to the left turn.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Chaska Drive Highlights – Minneapolis Speed Limit Is Wrong

Tesla’s Speed Limit Data for residential streets in the Twin Cities is still several years old which results in numerous driver interventions to change the vehicle’s set speed. I have submitted this issue to Tesla numerous times over the last few years and still remains an issue to this day. A good thread on this issue has been posted here: https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1621922308372701189
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – North Metro Test Loop Highlights – Lane Changes

FSD is much more confident than the old Autopilot stack when it comes to lane changes be it automatic (much faster) or driver-initiated. Very much looking forward to having this functionality on freeways & highways once single stack FSD (aka v11) drops here soon!
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – North Metro Test Loop Highlights – Threading The Needle

This is an example of how FSD Beta 10.69.25.x is able to confidently navigate through tight spaces caused by parked cars and plenty of snow!
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – North Metro Test Loop Highlights – UPL Turns

This is an example of how FSD Beta 10.69.25.x continues to do a fantastic job handling unprotected left turns especially when traffic is dense & visibility is limited.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – North Metro Test Loop

This video contains footage recorded on January 26th, 2023 of FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 driving me from my home (NE Minneapolis) to my parents’ house (Coon Rapids, MN). Even though this is a fairly straight forward route we encountered several issues along the way. Shared vehicle turn lanes as well as lane selection when crossing the intersection of 37th Ave NE & Central Ave NE continue to be noticeable regressions with the 10.69.25.x builds.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Columbia Heights Lane Selection Test

This video contains footage recorded on the morning of January 23rd, 2023 where I put FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 through a lane selection test that we previously tried w/ 10.69.3. Recent FSD builds have predominantly failed at selecting the correct lane after turning onto Central Ave NE so I was eager to see how 10.69.25.2 handled it. These failures have been an issue ever since FSD Beta 10.11 was released.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Roundabout Torture Test

This video contains footage recorded on the morning of January 21st, 2023 where I put FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 through a roundabout torture test that we previously tried w/ 10.69.3. The pair of roundabouts are located adjacent to a busy Walmart in Roseville, MN and I decided to test during the late morning on a Saturday to ensure other vehicle & VRU traffic would be present.  During the torture test, I traverse the pair of roundabouts a total of 6 times, 3 times from each direction. I considered each test a fail if I had to disengage or intervene with any sort of driver input.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Improvement w/ Left Turn Onto 5th St W

I’ve posted about some regressions with #FSDBeta 10.69.25.x but there are several improvements worth mentioning. One of which is how planner no longer tries to use the left turn lane after making a protected left turn onto 5th St W in Downtown St. Paul, MN.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Brief Drive Through St. Paul

This video contains footage recorded on the evening of January 19th, 2023 of FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 briefly driving me through Downtown St. Paul. St. Paul is known for it’s interesting street layout and this is the first of many St. Paul-related FSD videos.
Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Driving In The Snow

Description: This video contains footage recorded on the morning of January 19th, 2023 of FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 driving me from my home (NE Minneapolis) to my company’s office (Edina, MN) in the middle of a mild snow storm. It has been over a year since I last posted any videos (see below) of FSD Beta driving on snow covered roads so I figured it was time. When watching the two videos side by side you will quickly notice the improved confidence with path planning thanks in part to the occupancy networks properly mapping out usable driving space (most of the time). Keep up the great work Autopilot team!

Tesla – FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 – Work Test Loop

This video contains footage recorded on the morning of January 18th, 2023 of FSD Beta 10.69.25.2 driving me from my home (NE Minneapolis) to my company’s office (Edina, MN). Since this was my first drive with 10.69.25.2 I was eager to see how hesitant FSD was at common intersections (2-way, 3-way, and 4-way stops), especially when empty. I am happy to report that this build is noticeably more confident than 10.69.25.1 ever was. While my experience has been mostly positive I continue to notice a major regression with handling of the intersection of 37th Ave NE & Central Ave NE. This has been a regression I first noticed with 10.69.25 and something that was completely fixed as of 10.69.3. Since V11 is right around the corner, I made sure to not cut out the highway portions of this route so we can compare once that build is ready for the public.
